The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust

The Walton Centre is the only specialist trust in the UK providing neurology, neurosurgery and pain services. Although the majority of its patients come from Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, Lancashire and the Isle of Man, for some specialist treatments of complex disorders, the Centre sees patients from all parts of the country, referred by their GPs or other neurologists, neurosurgeons and pain clinicians.

Its comprehensive diagnosis, surgery, treatment and rehabilitation services mean that the most effective treatment can be pinpointed early and delivered in an integrated way and in one place, ensuring flexibility and continuity of patient care.

Every year it treats more than 40,000 patients in its purpose-built hospital and 13 community satellite clinics across the North West.  The highest case-load in the North of England gives it the best opportunity to achieve good outcomes.

The Walton Centre has many sub-specialist clinics across all three main specialties (Neurology, neurosurgery and pain relief); for example subspecialist clinics run weekly for epilepsy, MS, myasthenia, cerebrovascular disease, spinal disorders, cancer, neurological infection and movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and tremor. The full list is on the website.
